Purpose

Becoming a youth leader at the Point Youth Ministry is an exhilarating opportunity to ignite passion, foster connections, and make a genuine impact in the lives of young people! Imagine stepping into a vibrant ministry where you can inspire, mentor, and guide the next generation as they navigate the challenges of modern life. As a leader, you’ll lead discussions and create unforgettable experiences that resonate with today’s youth while pointing them to Jesus Christ. Join us at the Point Youth Ministry and be part of a movement that’s transforming lives, one teenager at a time!

Responsibilities

• Youth leaders will focus on building meaningful relationships with the students of Grand Point Church.
• Leaders will assist with weekly small group discussions on Sundays or Wednessdays, depending on the campus, and partner with the youth pastor to foster deeper relationships with Christ.
• Our goal is to have at least two leaders per small group to help guide the discussions.
• Leaders are encouraged to participate in activities such as retreats and other events as life allows. This is at no cost to our leaders.

Qualifications

• New leaders must have a passion for working with students in a group setting and for seeing all our students as followers of Jesus.
• You don’t need to be an expert in teenagers or Christianity, but we’re seeking people who are passionate about students and being an example of a Christ follower.
• All volunteers must pass a full federal and state background check.

Onboarding Plan

New leaders are required to meet with the campus youth pastor or director of student ministry to hear why the potential leader feels called to the Point Youth Ministry. New leaders will have the opportunity to observe for three weeks before committing to the youth ministry. During the observation period, potential leaders are paired with one of our seasoned leaders to shadow. This helps to determine if they’re a good fit for the ministry and if we’re a suitable place for the leader to volunteer and commit their time.

• Equip parents as they raise their child in the Lord
• Empower volunteers to disciple the next generation

At Grand Point, joining our Kids Ministry team means you’ll get to play an important role as you help the next generation (nursery – 5th grade) take their next steps to find and follow Jesus in a fun, life-changing environment! From diaper changes to discipleship, our kids need faithful adults to help them grow spiritually while they grow physically!

This role seeks to create an atmosphere where every person who walks through the doors of Grand Point Church feels seen, known, loved, and valued. As room host (ushers), you help shape the experience inside the room, ensuring that every person can find a seat, feel comfortable, and be positioned to engage fully with the service without distraction. Team plays a vital role in this by helping prepare the environment each week. It’s more than arranging a room; it’s creating a space where people can feel at home and be ready to hear the Word of God.

Time commitment: Ideally at least two services per month minimum. Available serving times:

• 8:15 AM-10:30AM
• 10:15AM-12:30PM

What we do:

• Remain stationed near your designated area of the Sanctuary 30 minutes before service until 30 minutes after service.
• Warmly greet people as they enter and personally guide them to available seats or connect them with another host.
• Recognize and welcome all regular attenders in your area.
• Recognize and welcome all first, second, third-time guests. Introduce them to bathrooms, coffee station, Welcome Center staff (for first time information), and Next Steps Bulletin Board.
• Give full attention to all guests interested in taking their next steps to find and follow Jesus Christ.
  • Pray with new believers or take to Next Steps area or Prayer Room for prayer.
  • Introduce serving opportunities as requested.
  • Introduce and encourage participation in small groups.
• Identify available seats and communicate with teammates to help direct people to appropriate seating.
• Assist guests with seating and help create a welcoming environment inside the worship center
• Help in specific moments, such as handing out materials or serving communion.
• Find and share resources such as where to find Circle information, serve information, or information related to announcements and even sign-ups.
• Direct guests to their Next Steps – membership, baptism, child dedications, prayer, financial guidance .

Qualifications

• You must like people!
• Comfortable with walking people around the room and asking people to slide to make room in the row.

Ministry Team: Local Outreach – Greencastle Campus

• Reports to: Paula Showalter
• Time Commitment: 5-10 hours a month
• Length of Commitment: 1 year

Purpose

To aid in carrying out Grand Point Church – Greencastle’s local outreach ministry within the Greencastle community with the goal of sharing the love of Jesus through acts of service.

Responsibilities

Serve at local outreach opportunities throughout the Greencastle community – possible opportunities include. . .

• The Greencastle Food Bank
• Our church’s annual Block Party
• Tailgates for our local GAHS football and basketball games
• Trunk or Treat celebration at Halloween
• Other opportunities as they arise

Qualifications

• Must love God and love to serve people!
• Should be comfortable with acts of kindness and service in the community.
• Be willing to participate in trainings as needed.

Ministry Team: Meal Train Team – Greencastle Campus

• Time Commitment: as needed – you are welcome to choose to participate or not participate in any meal train opportunity that is sent to you.
• Length of Commitment: 1 year

Purpose
To support Grand Point Church – Greencastle’s mission to love and support our church family through a meal ministry.

Responsibilities

• To prepare meals (when your schedule allows) for those in need due to new babies,
  surgeries, moves . . .

Qualifications

• Must love God and love to serve people!
• Should be comfortable with acts of kindness and delivering meals to people’s homes.
• Must be willing to create meals that meet dietary requirements of recipients.
