Café team – Shippensburg

The Café Team plays a simple but powerful role in helping people feel at home by offering warmth, care, and a welcoming environment where relationships can begin and community can grow.

Time Commitment:
At least one service per month; ideally two services per month.

Available Serving Times:

• Brewer: Sunday, starts at 7:15 AM
• First-Shift Servers: Sunday, 8:20–10:20 AM
• Second-Shift Servers: Sunday, 10:20 AM–clean up complete

Responsibilities

Brewer

• Prepare coffee, hot chocolate, and hot water before guests arrive.
• Set up the Café area and make sure servers have everything they need for the morning.
• Check supplies and restock items as needed.
• Help create a clean, organized, and welcoming Café environment.

Servers

• Serve coffee, hot chocolate, and tea to guests.
• Welcome guests warmly and look for opportunities to make personal connections while serving.
• Keep the Café area clean, tidy, stocked, and inviting throughout the morning.
• Wipe down tables, countertops, and serving areas as needed.
• Second-shift servers help with teardown and cleanup.

Qualifications

• Genuinely enjoy people and love Jesus.
• Be friendly, warm, and naturally hospitable.
• Enjoy serving others and helping people feel welcome.
• Be attentive and willing to notice what needs to be done.

Training & Resources
Don’t worry—you’ll be trained! A shadowing time will be scheduled as part of your onboarding process to help you learn your role, ask questions, and feel confident before serving on your own.
