Reports to: Elementary Coordinator
Time Commitment: About 2-3 hours per week, serving minimum of two Sundays per month.
Length of Commitment: 1 year

Purpose
The Elementary Large Group Assistant/ Worship Leader is a vital role that leads the Elementary large group in Worship while ensuring the understanding of why we worship. This leader will engage with students from kindergarten to fifth grade. They will prepare & create a safe, positive, nurturing environment, while inspiring children to learn, sing, dance and have intentional conversations to help them develop an authentic faith.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the KidsPoint Large group Leaders in curating & maintaining an age-appropriate worship for each week for each month.
  • Maintain communication, to know, support, and celebrate our God.
  • Understand & prepare materials ahead of time so you can lead the room with ease.
  • Ability to encourage a positive and joyful worship experience.
  • Facilitate & lead the group by understanding kids show up at all different points in their faith journey.
  • Express the innate desire to encourage kids to love and care for each other as God cares for them.
  • Serve a minimum of twice a month, engaging in lessons as needed.
  • Help train new volunteers with engaging with children, interacting with parents, and performing Sunday duties.

Qualifications

  • Must be a follower of Jesus Christ committed to a growing relationship with Him.
  • Enthusiastic about Christ-centered ministry to children.
  • Willingness to participate in training and receive certifications as needed.

Onboarding Plan

  • Have all appropriate Background clearances to engage with children (no older than 5 years)
  • Meet with the Coordinator for a 2-hour training.
  • Shadow for 2 Sundays with a current large group leader.
