Elementary Small Group Junior Assistant – Shippensburg

• Ministry Team: KidsPoint
• Reports to: Elementary Coordinator
• Time Commitment: About 1 hour per week, serving minimum of two Sundays per month.
• Length of Commitment: 1 year

Purpose
The Elementary Junior Assistant position provides upcoming leaders to gain experience with assisting the Elementary leader & assistant leader while engaging children. They will help maintain a safe, positive, nurturing environment, while caring for children to learn that they are loved by God & their caregiver.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the KidsPoint Elementary Leader & Assistant Leader in maintaining an age-appropriate engagement for each week for each month.
• Assist the room in a schedule of transitions to ensure a smooth engaging environment.
• Inspire to learn and grow in developing leadership skills, while understanding & knowing the dynamics of the nursery room and their needs.
• Understand and learn helpful information and needs of a child.
• Serve a minimum of twice a month, engaging in lessons as needed.
• Express a sense of maturity and positive example while engaging with children in room.
• Ensure undivided attention is given to the kids and not be distracted by electronic devices/cell phones.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years of age or older. Campus Lead or Kids Ministry Director determine an assessment of a good fit.
• Must be a follower of Jesus Christ committed to a growing relationship with Him.
• Enthusiastic about Christ-centered ministry to children.
• Willingness to participate in training and receive certifications as needed.
