Guest Services Host – Chambersburg

  • Ministry Team: Connections Team – Hospitality
  • Reports to: Executive Director of Advancement
  • Time Commitment: Ideally at least two services per month
    • Saturday 5:15-7:15
    • Sunday: 7:30 AM-9:25AM
    • Sunday: 9:25AM-10:50AM
    • Sunday: 10:50AM-12:30PM
  • Length of Commitment: 1 year


To be a helpful and friendly resource for every person who needs direction, assistance, or information. To create an atmosphere where every person who walks through the doors of Grand Point Church feels seen, known, loved, and valued.


  • Remain stationed behind the guest services desk.
  • Welcome and give full attention to all guests who approach the guest services desk.
  • Able to find and share resources such as where to find Circle information, serve information, or information related to announcements.
  • Present welcome bags to new visitors who complete a connection card.
  • Arrive 20 – 25 minutes prior to service time. Stay in position for the entire service time and until the next Guest Services Host arrives.
  • Special events (communion, baptism, child dedication, Next Step weekends, etc.) – Be aware of what is happening within the church to properly answer any questions.
  • Do not huddle; be assessable to our guests.


  • You must like people and have a desire to be helpful in any way possible.
  • Familiar with the building, ministries, and available resources and where to direct guests to locate what they need.


  • We are takers, not pointers! Physically walk guests to where they need to go; do not point!
  • “Is there anything I can help you with this morning?”
  • “How long have you been attending GPC?”
  • “It is great to see you back.” “How was your week?”
  • What is hospitality?
